After getting to know Ashley Grier, the Assistant Golf Professional at Overbrook Golf Club, PPT’s President and avid golfer, Kathy Bellwoar, knew that no one could be more deserving than Grier to receive PPT’s first ever athletic sponsorship. Bellwoar has always been committed to supporting women in achieving new heights in their careers and Grier is a rising star within the PGA who is shattering the glass ceiling for women golfers.

As a young girl growing up in Maryland, winning against the boys is what lit Ashley Grier’s fire for competitive golf. After playing on the all-boys golf team for her high school and then playing collegiate golf, Ashley started making a name for herself in the PGA. In 2017, Grier became the first female professional in the 95-year history of the Philadelphia PGA Section to win a points event. In 2018, she competed in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and has since become one of only two women who qualified for the 2019 National Club Professional Championship in a field of 300 men. In July, Grier will again compete in the 2019 Women’s PGA Championship. She will also be the only female competing at the Philadelphia Open at Huntingdon Valley.
However, it’s more than Grier’s outstanding golf talent that makes her a standout. As an Assistant Golf Professional, she is client-service oriented, consultative and passionate about helping members achieve their goals as golfers. Grier truly listens to member concerns and tailors her approach to their needs and capabilities, coaching them on the specific techniques to help them improve their golf game.

“Ashley’s work ethic and dedication to excellence in her profession are what make her the perfect athlete to receive PPT Consulting’s first ever sponsorship,” said Kathy Bellwoar, President of PPT Consulting. “Ashley is a great example of someone whose hard work and passion for what she does has translated into superior performance – the same qualities that PPT Consulting aims to exemplify in our client service,” noted Bellwoar.

“As sponsorships for women golfers aren’t always easy to come by, I’m so grateful for PPT’s sponsorship and support. Our core values are aligned, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the PPT team,” said Grier.
